Spotlight On: Michael Clarke

Michael Clarke helped lead the Peterborough Petes to a 3-0 record last week after he registered five points (a goal and four assists) and at least one in each contest.

Clarke had a season-high three points in the Petes' 7-4 win last Saturday over Sarnia, recording a goal and two assists. He has registered 11 points (four goals and seven assists) in his last 12 games.

Selected 132nd overall by the Avalanche in the fifth round of the 2012 Entry Draft, Clarke is in his first full season with Peterborough after spending his first two-and-a-half seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Windsor Spitfires. He was traded to the Petes midway through the 2012-13 season.

The London, Ontario native is tied for fourth on the Petes in scoring with 30 points (12 goals and 18 assists) in 42 games.

The Lake Erie Monsters were in Des Moines, Iowa last weekend for a two-game series with the Iowa Wild.

Sami Aittokallio was in net for the first two periods of the game, stopping 24 of 28 shots. Calvin Pickard finished the game for the Monsters and stopped seven of the nine shots he faced.
