Spotlight On: Brandon Maxwell
The Kitchener Rangers currently lead the Ontario Hockey League’s Midwest Division and rank second in the Western Conference with 51 points. Maxwell, who spent the previous two seasons with the U.S. National Team Development Program, has posted an 11-7-0-2 record with a .907 save percentage and one shutout in 20 appearances this season.
After being blanked by the Manitoba Moose, 1-0, on Friday, the Lake Erie Monsters came back and earned a 3-2 victory during Saturday’s rematch. Ryan Stoa
and Brian Willsie scored power-play goals for Lake Erie, while Philippe Dupuis netted the game-winning goal with 4:25 remaining in the third period. Dupuis also had a game-high eight shots on goal. Tyler Weiman earned the victory after stopping 29-of-31 shots.Charlotte Checkers
