Preseason Lineup: Avalanche at Stars

CENTENNIAL, Colo.--A mixture of veterans and rookies will dress for the Colorado Avalanche this evening when the squad takes on the Dallas Stars in preseason play at American Airlines Center.
Up front, veterans Andre Burakovsky, J.T. Compher, Darren Helm and Tyson Jost will be joined by rookies Shane Bowers, Martin Kaut, Alex Newhook and Sampo Ranta while the backend will feature vets Erik Johnson and Ryan Murray and young d-man Bowen Byram.

Professional tryouts Artem Anisimov and Jack Johnson will dress in their third and fourth preseason games, respectively.
Goaltenders Darcy Kuemper and Jonas Johansson are listed on the roster. The Avs announced on Thursday that netminder Pavel Francouz will miss three-to-four weeks with a lower-body injury that he sustained in Tuesday's exhibition outing against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Head coach Jared Bednar will not be behind the bench for the Avalanche's next two preseason games against the Dallas Stars following a positive COVID-19 test. Assistant coaches Ray Bennett and Nolan Pratt will coach the team until Bednar's return.
