TORONTO--Matt Calvert will return to the Colorado Avalanche's lineup this evening versus the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena.
He has missed the past six games after he was hit in the head by a puck in the closing minutes of Colorado's contest at the Vancouver Canucks on Nov. 16. The Brandon, Manitoba, native has 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in 20 outings so far this season.
"Calvert is coming in and [Vladislav] Kamenev is going to be out. He is sick this morning so that is the only change to our lineup," said head coach Jared Bednar.
Goaltender Philipp Grubauer will be between the pipes for the Avalanche. He has played in five contests against Toronto in his career and owns a 3-1-0 record versus the Leafs.
Tonight's outing will be the start of Colorado's fifth back-to-back set of the season as the team will face the Canadiens tomorrow night in Montreal. The Avs just completed their fourth such set this past weekend, sweeping a home-and-home with the Chicago Blackhawks, winning 5-2 on Friday and 7-3 on Saturday.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup based on the forward combinations and defensive pairings from the start of the previous game versus Chicago, with Calvert slotted into Kamenev's previous spot. They are subject to change.
