The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today its training camp dates for the upcoming 2009-10 season.

The Avalanche will begin its 2009 training camp on Sept. 12, with veterans reporting for medical and physical tests. The Avs will be on the ice for three days from Sept. 13-15 at the South Suburban Family Sports Center in Centennial, Colo.  Practices and scrimmages will take place in the morning from roughly 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All sessions are open to the public at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Avalanche will wrap up training camp with its annual Burgundy/White Game on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs (6:30 p.m.).  Colorado will open the preseason schedule against Dallas on Thursday, Sept. 17, at Pepsi Center (7:00 p.m.).

Prior to training camp, the team will hold a three-day rookie camp from Sept. 9-11 at the South Suburban Family Sports Center. The on-ice practice sessions are also free and open to the public.
