DENVER - As part of the year-long celebration for the Avalanche's 10th season in Denver, the Avalanche organization on Saturday awarded the ninth of 10 prizes in conjunction with its 10th Season Sweepstakes.
The winner of the drawing, which took place on April 3, was announced during the first intermission of this afternoon's game against the St. Louis Blues. Sue Ann Kay of Golden, Colo., was the ninth prize winner and was awarded a custom Avalanche Rocky Mountain Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Sue Ann registered for the contest online at www.coloradoavalanche.com.
The winner was randomly chosen from a computer database of 223,335 entries and witnessed by NHL security official Sam Singleton.
The Avalanche's 10th Season Sweepstakes offers fans the chance to win one of 10 prizes throughout the year, including exclusive team experiences, vacations and a new home courtesy of Amber Homes. The grand prize will be announced during the home finale on April 11.
