Avalanche goaltender Craig Anderson is officially being listed as “out indefinitely” after suffering a knee injury during the pre-game warm-up on Tuesday night in Vancouver.
Anderson’s injury will not require surgery, but he will need to undergo treatment.
After sustaining the injury, Anderson did not sit on the bench with his teammates as they faced the Canucks. Instead of traveling with the team to Calgary for Thursday’s contest, he headed back to Denver on Wednesday morning to receive further evaluation.
The Avalanche is expected to recall a goaltender from its American Hockey League affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters, to back up Peter Budaj until Anderson returns to health.
