Alexander Kerfoot Arizona Coyotes 22 December 2018

Alexander Kerfoot is in his second season with the Colorado Avalanche and has recorded 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists) through 67 games.
Prior to signing with the Avs as a free agent on Aug. 24, 2017, the 24-year-old played four years of college hockey at Harvard University and was a co-captain of the squad during his senior season. Kerfoot helped the Crimson capture two conference championships in his time in Cambridge and advance to the NCAA Frozen Four in 2017.

He played in his 100th NHL contest on Nov. 21 at Los Angeles and did it in style, recording a career-high three assists. Through 146 games, Kerfoot has 30 goals and 47 assists.
The Vancouver, British Columbia, native talks to ColoradoAvalanche.com about his pregame routine and hockey memories.
How would you describe your playing style.
"I think I'm a pass-first guy--a playmaker."
Who was your favorite player growing up?
"I had a couple. Growing up in Vancouver, I was a big Markus Naslund fan-the Canucks were pretty good back when I was younger. I also liked Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins."
What has been your favorite hockey moment?
"Making the playoffs last year was pretty special. That's up there. Also the run that we made my senior year in college was pretty fun as well. Made it to the Frozen Four in Chicago--that was pretty special."
Why did you choose No. 13?
"There weren't many numbers available when I signed here, but they gave me a couple of options. I was No. 14 in college, and 13 was close to that so I chose that."
Do you have a pregame routine?
"Yeah, I have a routine. I usually nap at the same time and eat food at the same time every day, but I'm not super superstitious or anything like that."
What is your favorite pregame meal?
"I've been eating at True Food Kitchen a lot recently. I think that's one of my favorite restaurants in Colorado."
What are some of your favorite activities to do in Denver?
"There's some pretty cool scenery around here. Going up to the mountains is pretty fun, I like doing that. Taking in some of the other sporting events as well is also fun."
If you didn't play hockey, what would you want to do as a career?
"That's a tough question. I graduated from college with an economics degree, so I might be using that in some way. But, if not hockey, then maybe another sport."
