Albany Eliminated from AHL Playoffs

GLENS FALLS, NY -- Mike Green had a goal and an assist and Frederic Cassivi made 32 saves to lead the Hershey Bers to a series-clinching 4-2 victory over the Albany River Rats Wednesday at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Joey Tenute, Tomas Fleischmann and Scott Barney also scored for the Bears, who won the best-of-seven series, 4-1. The Bears will face the winner of the Norfolk Admirals/WB-Scranton series in the second round.

Cassivi, who led Hershey to the Calder Cup championship last spring, stopped 27 shots over the final two periods to improve to 27-9 in 36 career games in a Hershey uniform in the postseason.

Jakub Petruzalek and Shane Willis scored in the third period for Albany after the Bears had jumped out to a 4-0 lead.

Tyler Weiman stopped 30 shots in the loss for the River Rats, who fell to 6-7 all-time when facing elimination.
