This week's subject is Milan Hejduk. The veteran winger led the Avalanche with 29 goals during the 2007-08 season, marking the fourth time in his career he has paced the club in that category. In addition, Hejduk finished third on the team with 54 points (29g/25a) in 77 games.
Oct. 13 vs. Columbus - Home Sweet Home Hejduk played a large role in Colorado’s 5-1 victory over Columbus, notching a pair of goals and also adding an assist as the Avs improved to 3-0 at home to start the season
Nov. 5 vs. Calgary - Fanning the Flames Facing Northwest Division rival Calgary, Hejduk tied a season-high with three assists during Colorado’s 4-1 victory at Pepsi Center
Dec. 7 vs. Philadelphia - Just Enough Time Hejduk scored with 2.9 seconds remaining in the second period, lifting the Avalanche to a 2-1 win over the Flyers. The goal doubled as Hejduk’s 99th career power-play tally
Dec. 9 vs. St. Louis - Six-Shooter On a banner night, Hejduk set a career-high with six points (3g/3a), including his fifth career hat trick. For his efforts, the forward was named the NHL’s First Star of the Week
Dec. 21 vs. NY Rangers - Stepping Up With the Avalanche short-handed due to multiple injuries, Hejduk scored a pair of second-period goals (his fourth multi-goal game of the season) in a 4-3 overtime victory
Feb. 9 @ Vancouver - Hitting His Mark Hejduk scored his 19th and 20th goals of the season against Vancouver, marking the eighth straight season he has reached the 20-goal plateau (the fourth-longest streak in franchise history)
March 26 vs. Vancouver - Sign of Longevity Hejduk moved into fifth place on the franchise’s all-time games played list by skating in his 697th career game. To commemorate the occasion, the winger scored twice and added an assist
March 28 vs. Edmonton - Four Straight The Usti-Nad Labem, Czech Republic, native scored against the Oilers to extend his goal streak to four games, the longest by an Avs player on the season
April 6 vs. Minnesota - His Specialty The forward notched his team-best eighth power-play goal of the season in Colorado’s regular season finale against the Wild, giving the club some momentum heading into the postseason
April 11 @ Minnesota - Tying It Up In Game Two of the Western Conference Quarterfinals, Hejduk scored with 44 seconds left in regulation and sent the game to overtime by tipping home a John-Michael Liles point shot
