Team Russia World Junior Championship World Juniors 2019

Seven skaters lit the lamp for Team Russia as the squad beat Switzerland 7-4 on Sunday to remain perfect through three games at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship.
The Russians were down 2-0 early into the clash and found themselves behind 3-1 just over five minutes into the second period. However, Russia tied the game with two quick goals in the stanza, outshooting Switzerland 17-7 in the frame.

Switzerland had a rare opportunity to take two penalty shots after Swiss forward Marco Lehmann was tripped twice on the same breakaway chance. Luckily for Team Russia, both attempts were denied by Russian netminder Danil Tarasov.
Russia took off in the third period, notching four markers to secure the victory. Avalanche prospect defenseman Danila Zhuravlyov registered one shot and 19:50 of ice time in the win and fellow prospect forward Nikolai Kovalenko did not dress.
Team Russia faces Team Canada on New Year's Eve to determine first place in Group A. Both teams hold a perfect record (3-0-0) so far in the preliminary round.
