Avalanche Acquires Michael Hutchinson

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has acquired goaltender Michael Hutchinson from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for defenseman Calle Rosen.
Hutchinson, 29, has appeared in 15 games this season with the Maple Leafs and four outings with the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. He posted a 4-9-1 record, 3.66 goals-against average and .886 save percentage with the Maple Leafs and went 3-1-0 with a 1.98 goals-against average and .943 save percentage with the Marlies.

Selected by the Boston Bruins in the third round (77th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft, Hutchinson owns a 50-52-14 record with a 2.81 goals-against average, .905 save percentage and five shutouts in 126 NHL appearances with the Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers and Winnipeg Jets.
The Barrie, Ontario, native also has a 92-56-9 record, 2.49 goals-against average .919 save percentage and 14 shutouts in 172 career AHL appearances with the Marlies, Springfield Thunderbirds, Manitoba Moose, St. John's IceCaps and Providence Bruins. As a member of the Moose in 2017-18, Hutchinson was selected to the AHL's Second All-Star Team and participated in the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic.
The 6-foot-3, 198-pound goaltender has played in 25 AHL playoff contests and went 12-9 with a 1.95 goals-against average and .938 save percentage to help St. John's reach the 2014 Calder Cup Finals.
Prior to turning pro, Hutchinson played three-plus seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Barrie Colts and London Knights, registering a 67-50-7 record, 2.87 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in 130 career outings.
