Bonino uses second day with Cup for same good cause
Center raises money for children's hospital before enjoying spaghetti from trophy

After again using the Stanley Cup to raise money for Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Nick Bonino enjoyed some of his mom's spaghetti from the trophy.
The Nashville Predators center, who helped the Pittsburgh Penguins win the Cup for a second straight season, held a public ceremony at his former school, Avon Old Farms, on Sunday to raise money for the children's hospital. Bonino raised about $6,000 for the hospital during his day with the Cup in Avon last year and was hoping to raise $30,000 this year. Bonino is from Hartford and grew up in Farmington, but he attended Avon Old Farms, a boarding school known for its powerhouse hockey program.
After the ceremony, the 29-year-old headed home to enjoy some of his mother's home cooking. Bonino had seven points (four goals, three assists) in 21 Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Penguins, helping them defeat the Predators in six games in the 2017 Stanley Cup Final. He signed a four-year, $16.4 million contract with Nashville on July 1 after winning the Cup each of his two seasons with Pittsburgh.
