Jakub Voracek had a goal and an assist, Oskar Lindblom scored, and Claude Giroux had three assists for Philadelphia. Alex Lyon made 33 saves.

The Flyers (38-25-12), who hold the first wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference, trail the Columbus Blue Jackets by one point for third place and the Pittsburgh Penguins by one point for second in the Metropolitan. Pittsburgh has played one fewer game than Philadelphia and Columbus.
"We were just sporadic today," Flyers coach Dave Hakstol said. "The first three, four minutes of the game, we weren't sharp and crisp, and the last 15, 16 minutes, we played really well. From there, we were sporadic though the next 20, 25 minutes. Then we got back on our heels in the last part of the third period. There's things that we'll have to clean up and do a little bit better. But the bottom line is the two points at the end of the night, and we move on."
Jesper Fast had two goals and an assist, Mika Zibanejad scored, and Alexandar Georgiev made 32 saves for the Rangers (32-34-8), who are 10 points behind the New Jersey Devils for the second Eastern wild card.
Getting off to a better start was a focus for the Flyers after they trailed 3-1 entering the second period in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.
Konecny provided that when he cut through the slot and scored at 7:56 of the first period to make it 1-0.
Zibanejad tied it 1-1 when he skated around Philadelphia defenseman Radko Gudas and scored at 13:53.
The Flyers went ahead 2-1 when Voracek split two Rangers to score at 3:46 of the second period, and then Konecny got to the net and redirected Gudas' shot at 8:38 to make it 3-1.
"I'm trying to do the little things," Konecny said. "Watched a lot of video on going to the net, keeping things simple, chipping pucks in. It's the way you have to play, and right now things are working for us."
Konecny did not play the final 7:20 of the game because of defensive lapses.
"Wasn't taking care of the puck very well," Hakstol said. "Definitely some of the things in the [defensive] zone. Individuals got to be better at this time of the year in how we manage the puck and how we take care of it and the mentality that we're going to do things with."
Konecny said he understood the reason behind his benching.
"It's just about getting the two points," he said. "I think we're going to make sure that defensively we're going to take care of pucks and little things like that. It's part of buying in and doing things for the team. I have no problem with it."
Fast got the Rangers within 3-2 with 2:57 remaining in the second when his shot from the left side went off Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov's skate and past Lyon.

Philadelphia took a 4-2 lead on Lindblom's backhand goal off the rebound of a Nolan Patrick shot eight seconds into the third period.
Fast's second goal of the game, at 1:28, got New York within 4-3.
"Thought there was a lot of fight and compete on our team tonight," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said. "We got down, we battled to come back. Made it a one-goal game in the second, made it a one-goal game after they scored early in the third. Our guys competed, but we came up short."
