Forward Torrey Mitchell was traded to the Los Angeles Kings by the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday for a conditional pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.

If the Kings make the playoffs, the Canadiens will receive the 2018 fourth-round pick they traded to Los Angeles for forward Dwight King in a deal that was finalized on Nov. 15. If the Kings do not make the playoffs, Montreal receives Los Angeles' 2018 fifth-round pick.
Mitchell, 32, played in 11 games with the Canadiens this season. He was scoreless with two penalty minutes.
He has 141 points (61 goals, 80 assists) in 617 NHL games with the Canadiens, Buffalo Sabres, Minnesota Wild and San Jose Sharks.
The Kings (12-8-2) are in second place in the Pacific Division with 26 points. The Canadiens (8-12-3) are in sixth place in the Atlantic Division with 19 points.
