Scott Murray's summer cookout on Saturday started with a surprise visit to his local butcher, with a little extra hardware in tow.

The Washington Capitals goaltending coach popped in to Stemler Meats in his hometown of St. Clements, Ontario, for some supplies and brought the Stanley Cup with him for the locals to see up close.
Murray picked up a whole pig for a roast at home and a load of pepperette meat sticks to eat out of the Cup.

He then stopped at the St. Clements and District Community Center where people from the small village near Waterloo, Ontario, could take their picture with the Cup.
Murray also lent the Cup to a mini parade, and it traveled with children on a riding mower-led wagon.
"I'm extremely excited to go back there to enjoy the day with people that I've been around for such a long time," Murray
told The Observer of Woolwich and Wellesley Townships

This was Murray's first season as goaltending coach. He joined the Capitals in 2013 after spending four seasons as the goaltending coach for Sudbury of the Ontario Hockey League.
