The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremony and the Tampa Bay Lightning attempting to extend a six-game winning streak are among the highlights of the week ahead in the NHL.
Here's a look at 5 things to watch:

1. U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremony

Gordon "Red" Berenson, Natalie Darwitz, Leland "Hago" Harrington, David Poile and Paul Stewart will be inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Nashville on Wednesday.
Jim Johannson, assistant executive director of USA Hockey and general manager of the 2018 U.S. Olympic men's hockey team, will be honored posthumously with the Lester Patrick Award.

2. Thunderbolts

The Tampa Bay Lightning will attempt to extend the longest active winning streak in the NHL beginning against the New York Rangers at Amalie Arena on Monday (7:30 p.m. ET; SUN, MSG, NHL.TV).
The Lightning (23-7-1) have won six in a row and lead the NHL with 47 points, six ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Their streak is second longest in the NHL this season, four behind the 10 straight wins for the Buffalo Sabres from Nov. 8-27.
Tampa Bay also is home against the Maple Leafs on Thursday and visits the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday.

3. Scoring surges

ForwardsAlex Ovechkin and Mikko Rantanen each will try to extend his point streak.
Ovechkin has 16 points (10 goals, six assists) during an 11-game point streak for the Washington Capitals, who host the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, NBCSWA, NHL.TV), visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday and are home against the Sabres on Saturday. The Capitals captain is two games from equaling the longest point streak of his NHL career, set from Jan. 1-Feb. 1, 2007 (20 points; eight goals, 12 assists in 13 games).

WSH@CBJ: Ovechkin finishes tic-tac-toe passing play

Rantanen has 19 points (five goals, 14 assists) in an 11-game run for the Colorado Avalanche, who play the Edmonton Oilers at Pepsi Center on Tuesday (9 p.m. ET; ALT, SNW, NHL.TV), visit the St. Louis Blues on Friday and are home against the Dallas Stars on Saturday.
Florida Panthers forward Mike Hoffman's 17-game point streak is the longest in the NHL this season (10 goals, 10 assists from Oct. 13-Nov. 21).

4. Strong Island

The New York Islanders play their second and third regular-season games at the refurbished Nassau Coliseum against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday (7 p.m. ET; SN, TVAS, MSG+, ATTSN-PT, NHL.TV) and the Red Wings on Saturday. They won their first game at the arena since 2015 by rallying from down 2-0 to defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2 on Dec. 1.
The Islanders will play 17 more games this season at the Coliseum, their home from 1972-2015. They enter the game Monday 10-3-0 against the Metropolitan Division.

5. Milestone watch

* Center Ryan Getzlaf needs one point for 900 in the NHL. The Anaheim Ducks are home against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday (10 p.m. ET; PRIME, FS-SW+, NHL.TV) and at the Blue Jackets on Saturday.
* Los Angeles Kings center Anze Kopitar is three goals from the 300 in the NHL. The Kings are on a four-game road trip at the Red Wings on Monday (7:30 p.m. ET; NHLN, FS-D+, FS-W, NHL.TV), the Sabres on Tuesday, the Blue Jackets on Thursday and the Penguins on Saturday.
* Hurricanes forward Justin Williams is six goals from 300 in his NHL career. Carolina faces the Maple Leafs at PNC Arena on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET; FS-CR, TSN4, NHL.TV), visits the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday and returns home to play the Capitals on Friday and the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday.
* Canadiens coach Claude Julien is two wins from 600 in the NHL. He's coached 17 seasons with the Canadiens, New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins, winning the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011. The Canadiens are at the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET; FS-N, FS-WI, TSN2, RDS, NHL.TV) and home against the Hurricanes on Thursday and the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
* Devils forward Taylor Hall is one goal from 200 in the NHL. New Jersey is at the San Jose Sharks on Monday (10:30 p.m. ET; SN, NBCSCA, MSG+, NHL.TV), hosts the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday and visits the Predators on Saturday.
