UPDATE (December 29): Due to COVID-19 cases affecting multiple teams, the IIHF has canceled the remainder of the 2022 World Junior Championship.
World Juniors season is upon us.
The Sabres have four prospects sprinkled throughout this year's tournament, which is being held in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta: forwards Isak Rosen (Sweden) and Jakub Konecny (Czechia) and defensemen Nikita Novikov (Russia) and Owen Power (Canada).
We spoke to Sabres director of player development Adam Mair about each of those four players, which you can read here.
Check back here throughout the tournament for results pertaining to each of the prospects, and find their respective schedules below (all times eastern).
All games are on NHL Network.

Canada 6 - Czech Republic 3
Power recorded the first hat trick by a Canadian defenseman in World Juniors history to propel Canada to a 6-3 victory.
Power buried a wrist shot from above the left faceoff circle for his first goal, which cut an early two-goal deficit in half during the first period:

His next goal came on a 5-on-3 power play. Power rotated to the right faceoff circle and dropped to one knee as he let go of a one-timer:

He finished off the hat trick on another 5-on-3 advantage, this time drifting low toward the goal line to clean up a loose puck:

Power finished with game highs in shots (6) and ice time (21:48).
"It's pretty special to me," Power said afterward, according to IIHF.com. "It's the first hat trick I've ever had."
