The Willie O'Ree All-Star Game is an annual event that honors, Willie O'Ree, the first black player in the NHL, and celebrates the sport and its diverse young fans. The weekend festivities allow selected players from each of the NHL DIVERSITY programs to interact with NHL players in addition to attending a NHL game. The event showcases the success of the individual inner-city programs, as their top players are given an opportunity to compete.
