Buffalo Sabres forward Taylor Hall was back in the Garden State on Saturday, and the New Jersey Devils made certain to show their appreciation.
The Devils shared a highlight montage celebrating the Hall's three-and-a-half years in New Jersey in his first game at Prudential Center on Saturday. Tweet from @NJDevils: Welcome back, Taylor. pic.twitter.com/N4VQjoVb8m Hall is the only Hart Trophy winner in Devils history. He won the award after scoring 39 goals and 97 points during the 2017-18 season while helping the Devils reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Devils traded Hall to the Arizona Coyotes on Dec. 16, 2019. He signed a one-year contract with the Sabres on Oct. 12. Hall was overwhelmed by the gesture, even sharing his gratitude on Twitter.
Wanted to thank the @NJDevils for the tribute today. I have some amazing memories as a Devil and NJ will always be a special place for me to come back to. Classy organization and great fans made for a great 3.5 years!
"It was very nostalgic, being around the arena today," Hall said after the Sabres 3-2 win. "It brought back a lot of memories. I enjoyed my time here and wish the organization nothing but the best." - NHL.com staff writer Michael G. Morreale contributed to this story.
