Mike Burnstein, 29, joined the Canucks' staff in 1995 after serving as head athletic trainer for the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch in 1994-95. Burnstein served as head athletic trainer for the AHL's Hamilton Canucks in 1993-94. He developed an interest in athletic healthcare as a youngster assisting the Ontario Hockey League's Hamilton Steelhawks. Mike was honored to serve as athletic trainer at the 1998 NHL All-Star Game and for Team Canada at the 1987 and '91 Canada Cup Tournaments and the 1998 and Õ99 World Championships. The Hamilton, Ont., native received an undergraduate degree in athletic therapy from Sheridan College. He is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapist Association. Mike, who enjoys golf and fishing, resides in Coquitlam, B.C.
Pat O'Neill

Pat O'Neill, 39, achieved one of his profession's highest honors in 1996, when he received the B.C. Hockey Hall of Fame's Larry Ashley Award, named after the late Canucks head athletic trainer. The 20-year veteran NHL equipment manager joined the Canucks in 1989, after serving as assistant equipment manager of the Winnipeg Jets from 1980-88. The Winnipeg native was honored to serve as equipment manager at the 1990 World Championships in Bern Switzerland, 1992 NHL All-Star Game in Philadelphia, 1996 World Cup of Hockey and the 1998 NHL All-Star Game in Vancouver. Pat is a certified member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association. His hobbies include golf and boating. Pat and his wife, Debra, reside in Coquitlam, B.C., with their daughters, Brooklyn and Faith.
