EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Jarret Stoll had a feeling the Edmonton Oilers were going to snap their five-game home losing streak.
Stoll scored his first goal since Dec. 31, Ryan Smyth and Raffi Torres had power-play goals and backup goalie Mike Morrison made 16 saves in the Oilers' 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night.
"Some nights you feel like you can't lose," Stoll said. "Luckily, it was one of those nights."
The Oilers moved within two points of the first-place Canucks in the Northwest Division.
"It's a big win. I can't argue that," Oilers coach Craig MacTavish said.
Vancouver has lost four of seven games on a trip that began in St. Louis on Jan. 23.
"We didn't have that energy that we needed," Auld said. "It just wasn't there."
Morrison, making his third start in four games in place of Jussi Markkanen, improved to 9-2-0, allowing only Daniel Sedin's goal late in the second period.
Smyth opened the scoring at 11:21 of the first period, beating Alex Auld for his 23rd goal of the season.
Stoll made it 2-0 with 6:57 left in the second, and Sedin scored with 3:08 left in the period. Torres capped the scoring at 8:17 of the third, his 18th goal of the season.
Edmonton outshot the Canucks 15-1 in the third period and 40-17 overall.
"We didn't initiate anything," Canucks captain Markus Naslund said. "There was no doubt they were outworking us."
Notes: Smyth has four goals in five games against Vancouver this season. ... Auld, starting his sixth straight game, made 37 saves.
