DALLAS (AP) - The Dallas Stars connected three times on the power play and once while short-handed.

With all that, the Columbus Blue Jackets didn't stand a chance.

Jere Lehtinen broke a tie at 9:06 of the third period with the last of Dallas' man-advantage goals and Stephane Robidas added a short-handed tally to send the Stars to a 6-3 victory over the Blue Jackets on Friday night.

Columbus had two power-play goals of its own, but that wasn't enough.

"We let them in the game with some special teams so it was good that we won it with some special teams," Stars coach Dave Tippett said after his 100th NHL victory. "Not just the power-play goals but the short-handed goal."

Brenden Morrow and Jussi Jokinen also capitalized on the power play for the Stars, who've won a season-best four straight.

Dallas had success on its penalty kill despite allowing two goals. The Stars kept Columbus scoreless during a two-minute, two-man advantage in the first period.

"We talk about finding ways to win the game," Tippett said. "When you give them a 5-on-3, that's finding ways to lose games. You know you're going to give up a chance or two. But we've done a real good job on our PK (penalty kill)."

The Stars have been making themselves at home on the road. Now they're trying to do a better job in Texas. They won this one with a four-goal third period.

Dallas improved to 7-2 on the road with a perfect, three-game trip. The Stars are only 6-4-1 at home, however.

"It would have been tough to play lousy after winning three on the road," Stars center Jason Arnott said. "Our fans wouldn't like that."

With the game even at 3, Lehtinen took a pass from Niko Kapanen and snapped a one-timer from the top of the right circle for Lehtinen's 11th of the season and third straight game-winner.

"It took us two periods to get going after a good road trip for us," Lehtinen said. "We started pretty good but they came back two times. We knew we could come back again."

Later in the third period, Robidas added his short-handed goal, and Stu Barnes scored at even strength to stretch Dallas' advantage to 6-3.

Bryan Berard had two power-play goals, and Duvie Westcott added his first NHL goal for the Blue Jackets, who have lost eight of nine.

"Scoring three goals on the road and losing is pretty disappointing," Columbus coach Gerard Gallant said. "But I was proud of the way the guys battled back and stayed in it."

Bill Guerin also scored for the Stars, winners of seven of eight.

The Stars are 15-2 against the Blue Jackets, with goalie Marty Turco perfect in eight decisions.

Morrow's rebound goal gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 7:46 of the first period.

Columbus tied it at 1 on a man-advantage goal from Berard at 7:44 of the second.

Guerin skated hard to the net and converted a pass from Arnott at 9:01 of the second to put Dallas back in front.

But Berard scored his second goal of the night and fifth of the season with the Blue Jackets on their sixth power play to draw Columbus even at 2 at 16:16 of the second.

Jokinen's power-play rebound at 5:07 of the third period gave Dallas a 3-2 lead, but Westcott answered at 6:31 of the third to tie it.

Notes: Tippett has the best points percentage (.643) among active NHL coaches with a record of 100-48-34. ... Stars D Jon Klemm sat out with a groin injury and is day to day. John Erskine, scratched in seven previous games, took Klemm's place in the defensive rotation. ... The Stars have power-play goals in 11 straight games, the longest streak since the team moved to Dallas in 1993. ... Columbus scored two goals on three shots in the second period. ... Sergei Fedorov earned his first point for the Blue Jackets with an assist on Berard's second goal. Fedorov was playing his second game for Columbus after being acquired from Anaheim on Tuesday.
