TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ The Tampa Bay Lightning believe.
Believe they can win Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals on the road to even the best-of-seven series.
Believe they can take a decisive seventh game at home, as well, if they give themselves a chance by beating the Calgary Flames on Saturday night.
``Every time we've been down, we've found a way to bounce back, and we're going to have to do it again,'' forward Chris Dingman said after the Flames pushed the Eastern Conference champions to the brink of elimination in Game 5 Thursday night.
``Obviously, there's a lot of pressure. We've got to be loose and just play. ... If we play the game we feel we can play, play smart and don't turn the puck over and keep our shifts short, we feel we can win.''
The Flames took Game 5 in overtime, winning on Oleg Saprykin's goal with 5:20 left in the first extra period.
Lightning goalie Nikolai Khabibulin was brilliant much of the night, making save after save to redeem himself for not making what should have been a routine stop on Jarome Iginla's goal that gave Calgary a 2-1 lead late in the second period.
But with the game on the line, there was nothing the Tampa Bay star could do to stop Oleg Saprykin from scoring out of a scramble in front of the net.
``He made some unbelievable saves. He gave us a chance to tie that game up, gave us a chance to try to win it in overtime,'' captain Dave Andreychuk said. ``If Nik doesn't make a lot of those saves, we're done a lot earlier.''
The Lightning insist they aren't finished.
Khabibulin is 6-0 in these playoffs following a loss, including a 1-0 shutout in Game 4, and the Lightning have alternated wins and losses for a playoff-record 12 consecutive games. If that trend holds, Game 7 will be in Tampa on Monday night.
``We talked after the game that we're not dead yet,'' Andreychuk said. ``We have won in that building before. That's what we're focused on right now, just trying to get that Game 6.''
The team winning Game 5 of a Stanley Cup final tied 2-2 has gone on to win the championship 14 of 18 times.
Dingman was a member of one of the four teams that rallied to win the Cup after losing Game 5 to fall behind 3-2.
``You win one game and momentum swings back in your favor,'' said Dingman, who was with Colorado when the Avalanche won Games 6 and 7 to take the title against the New Jersey Devils in 2001.
``Obviously it is a do-or-die situation, the season is on the line. You don't expect anything less than 100 percent from all our guys.''
Asked if he felt the Lightning will be able to bring the series back home for Game 7, coach John Tortorella didn't hesitate.
``Yes, we will,'' the coach said.
