Kane on the experience: "It's nice to be part of the All-Star festivities in any way you can your first year. Just being here as a YoungStar and as a player that is part of the whole process."

HE SAID IT
On going to Sabres games growing up: "I remember me and my dad used to go to the Sabres games and sit right behind the glass, pretty much the same spot every time. We'd probably go to about 25 games a year since I was six years old. It was a lot of fun going to those games. There are a lot of memories there. I think just watching players that closely, sitting behind the bench, watching the way players tape their sticks, the way they skate out there for warm ups; going to warm ups helped me develop my skills and how they do it in NHL and how it works up at the highest level."

On his first NHL goal (against Colorado): "Every time I watch that goal I get chills, just my first goal. It took a little while, about seven games into the season. And I mean if you look back on the goal, I think there's pretty much no other way you want to score your first goal. It was a pass over on a 2-on-1, and a great shot up over (Jose) Theodore's glove. And it was a great feeling to get that first one out of the way, definitely."

On winning the Calder Trophy: "It was an unbelievable feeling when I heard my name called. It's nerve-wracking sitting there. You want your name called, but I can honestly say I would have been just as happy if Jonathan had won. Without him I probably wouldn't have even been there ... a lot of experts questioned whether I could get it done, so getting this award will maybe silence them."

THEY SAID IT
Chicago GM Dale Tallon: "Kane is a brilliant passer and scorer. He can make unbelievable passes. He seems to have great vision. He makes plays that you don't expect anyone to be capable of making. He has that second set of eyes."

Chicago Blackhawks teammate Patrick Sharp after Kane was drafted by Blackhawks 1st overall in 2007: "He looked right into the camera, and said, 'I'm going to play for the Blackhawks next season.' And I'm sitting there thinking 'Yeah, right, kid. Sure. See you in a couple years.' Boy, was I wrong!"

IN THE NEWS
Kane ready for some alone time
Kane eager for the Winter Classic to arrive
Sizzling Kane right at home in Chicago

VIDEO FEATURES
Named 2009 NHL All-Star Game starter
Kane Broadcast Feature
NBC Chicago Goes 1 on 1 with Kane
Is This the Year campaign
Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Quote of the Day

A piece of scar tissue breaks off, pinches the nerve, and every time you move your leg it's almost like having a root canal in your stomach and groin.
