A skilled forward with good on-ice awareness, James O'Brien has a good work ethic. He handles the puck well and has a good wrist shot. O'Brien was the youngest player in Division I college at the University of Minnesota in 2006-07. A product of the U.S. National Team Development Program, he won a silver medal at the 2007 World Under-18 Championship.
