Competing in his first Olympic Games, Hornqvist is the second youngest player on the Swedish roster at 23 years of age. At the time the roster was named (Dec. 27), Hornqvist was tied for third among Swedish NHLers in goals (13).
He led the team with six goals at the 2008 World Championship and first competed for his country at the 2007 World Junior Championships.
