An Olympic first-timer, Krejci represented his country at the 2008 World Championships held in Quebec City and Halifax, Nova Scotia. At the age of 22, he started the tournament on a line with Patrik Elias and Martin Erat.
In his first international experience Krejci played for the Czech Republic at the 2005 World Junior Championships winning a bronze medal in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
I think I'm lucky to be here and you definitely don't take very many things for granted, if you take anything for granted. I definitely put my family and my wife and my close family in perspective, that they're the most important thing in the world. I want to do whatever I can to play hockey, but like I said, under the right circumstances.
