Played on Canada's number two line (behind Crosby/Bergeron/Perry trio) at the 2005 World Junior Championships with Jeff Carter and Andrew Ladd and scored three points (1-2-3) in 6-1 win over Russia in the gold medal game.

Played on one of the all-time great Canadian teams at the 2005 World Junior Championship -- along with fellow 2010 Olympians Sidney Crosby, Brent Seabrook, Shea Weber, Corey Perry, Patrice Bergeron and Mike Richards.
