Koivu will be making his second career Olympic appearance; as an NHL rookie in 2006 at Turin, Koivu saw action on a checking line in eight games and did not pick up a point for the silver medal-winning Finns. He earned a silver medal at the 2007 World Championship, captured bronze at the 2006 Worlds and silver at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey.
