Murray is making his international debut at age 26. He has played all his hockey in North America after leaving Sweden as a high school exchange student in 1998.
His maternal grandfather, Lars (Lasse) Bjorn, was part of two gold-medal teams at the World Championships in 1953 and 1957 and won a silver medal at the 1956 Olympics. He's a member of the International Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.
I've got a lot of experience and there's a lot of young guys. It's even making me excited a little more. It's kind of a new life. At my age, I feel like I know a lot of things what to do, but I just cannot do it anymore. It's a lot easier to tell them what to do because they've still got the legs and hands to do it. I just know things, but I cannot do them anymore.
