A three time Olympian, Zetterberg will be looked upon to help lead Sweden back to the top of the podium. At the 2006 Olympics, he finished with six points (3-3-6), including a goal and an assist in the gold medal game.
In 2006, Zetterberg formed a line with Detroit teammates at the time, Mikael Samuelsson and Tomas Holmstrom. The line combined for five goals and nine assists at the tournament.
Zetterberg became a member of the elite Triple Gold Club after winning the Stanley Cup for the first time in 2008 with the Detroit Red Wings -- he also won a World Championship gold medal in 2006 following the Olympic gold.
He's, believe it or not, actually one of my favorite guys, and I've ended up trading him twice. I appreciate what he's done. He was one year away from being an unrestricted free agent, and I felt with this opportunity, that it was a chance that we were able to get somebody for him in Nick Bonino and Adam Clendening.
