He also topped all NHL forwards in average ice time per game (24:17). In 2006-07, St. Louis had set career highs in goals (43), assists (59) and points (102) -- numbers that eclipsed his Hart and Art Ross Trophy-winning campaign in 2003-04. <br /> <br /> In his All-Star Game debut in 2003, he played on a line with Lightning teammate Vincent Lecavalier and Alex Kovalev -- St. Louis also won the puck control competition. He commented on his first All-Star Game: &quot;It was a great experience. It will give me memories for a long time. Guys with great careers sometimes don't get a chance here.&quot; <br /> <br /> A Laval, Quebec native, St. Louis' favorite team growing up was the Montreal Canadiens and his hockey idol was Mats Naslund while he starred for his hometown Canadiens. <br /> <br /> St. Louis was one of seven inducted into the University of Vermont Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. St. Louis, who played at UVM from 1993-1997, was inducted alongside NHL players Tim Thomas (Boston) and Eric Perrin (Atlanta). <br /> <br /> <a name="he"></a><b>HE SAID IT</b><br /> On attending the All-Star weekend in 2009: &quot;I'm excited. This is my fifth one, but sons Ryan and Lucas are at the age now where they understand what's going on now, and they had such a blast last year in Atlanta. This year, they were kind of bummed when I wasn't (originally) named. To be in Montreal, with the Canadiens' 100th-year celebration and to be a part of that is special.&quot; <br /> <br /> On playing Montreal at the Bell Centre: &quot;I love playing here. If you can't get up for a game here, you don't have blood in your veins.&quot; <br /> <br /> On rookie teammate Steven Stamkos: &quot;He's made tremendous progress in his decision making. When you come to this level, everything is magnified, and the players are so much better. You can't try to manufacture offense when it's not there. You have to recognize that, and I think he's doing a better of job of doing that and putting himself in a position where he can be successful.&quot; <br /> <br /> <span class="txt14Strg">Career All-Star Game Statistics </span><br /> <div id="asstatsbox" style="border: 1px solid rgb(161, 161, 161); margin: 4px 0px; padding: 0px; float: left; width: 660px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" class="asstat"> <tbody> <tr class="headrw"> <td>SEASON</td> <td>TEAM</td> <td>Score</td> <td>R</td> <td align="center">GP</td> <td align="center">G</td> <td align="center">A</td> <td align="center">PTS</td> <td align="center">+/-</td> <td align="center">PIM</td> <td align="center">PP</td> <td align="center">SH</td> <td align="center">GW</td> <td align="center">SOG</td> </tr> <tr> <td>2002-03</td> <td>East</td> <td>5-6</td> <td>L</td> <td align="center">1</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">-1</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center" class="right">4</td> </tr> <tr> <td>2003-04</td> <td>East</td> <td>6-4</td> <td>W</td> <td align="center">1</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center" class="right">1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>2006-07</td> <td>East</td> <td>9-12</td> <td>L</td> <td align="center">1</td> <td align="center">1</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">1</td> <td align="center">-4</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center" class="right">2</td> </tr> <tr> <td>2007-08</td> <td>East</td> <td>8-7</td> <td>W</td> <td align="center">1</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">2</td> <td align="center">2</td> <td align="center">1</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center" class="right">4</td> </tr> <tr class="totrw"> <td colspan="4">All-Star Totals</td> <td align="center">4</td> <td align="center">1</td> <td align="center">2</td> <td align="center">3</td> <td align="center">-4</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center">0</td> <td align="center" class="right">11</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> <script type="text/javascript">jQuery(function(){ jQuery('#asstatsbox').corner('6px'); });</script>
Quote of the Day

I didn't even know how to celebrate. I threw my hands up, they gave me a hug, so I guess that's all I needed.

— Sabres forward Tim Schaller on scoring his first NHL goal Sunday against the Bruins
