Demitra will be playing in his third consecutive Olympics. His most recent international competition was the 2007 World Championship where he played on a line with Marian Hossa and Marian Gaborik. The trio combined for 21 points (9-12-21) in six games. Demitra also played two seasons in Minnesota as Gaborik’s teammate -- it will be their first competition together since the end of the 2007-08 season.
He has won two international medals, both bronze -- the first at the 1993 World Junior Championship (playing for the Czechoslovakia) and at the 2003 World Championship. He has also competed in two World Cups, 1996 and 2004.
