Deb Placey

Host, NHL Live

Deb Placey is one of the hosts of NHL Live and also has hosted live, on-location reports for major events on NHL Network, such as the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the NHL Entry Draft.

Deb has hosted telecasts for the New York Islanders for over 10 years and, beginning with the 2011-12 season, will be the host for the New Jersey Devils.

After graduating from University of Arizona, Deb got her first job working for ESPN as a production assistant. After working as a sports anchor at television stations in Providence, R.I., Miami, Fla., and WNBC-TV in New York, Deb went back to ESPN as an announcer, and after two years on the air left for MSG Network in 1995.

A St Louis native, Deb grew up on the same street as Emile Francis and his family during his tenure with the Blues. She lists the late Dan Kelly (former Blues player and legendary play-by-play man) as her sports idol.

Placey lives with her husband Edward and their two daughters, Madeline and Caroline in Southport, Conn. Edward is a coordinating producer at ESPN.
