Marc Bergevin enters his first season as the Director of Player Personnel after serving as an Assistant Coach for the Blackhawks last season.

Prior to being an Assitant Coach Bergevin served three seasons with the Blackhawks’ scouting staff. Bergevin  served as Director of Pro Scouting for the previous three seasons, traveling the United States and Canada to scout all levels of professional hockey.

Bergevin was originally drafted by the Blackhawks in the 3rd round, 60th overall, in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. A veteran of 20 NHL seasons, he laced up his skates for the Blackhawks, New York Islanders, Hartford Whalers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, Pittsburgh Penguins and Vancouver Canucks, appearing in a total of 1,191 NHL games. He recorded 36 goals and 145 assists for 181 points and 1,090 penalty minutes in his career. He also played in 80 Stanley Cup Playoff games during his career recording three goals and six assists for nine points and 52 penalty minutes.

Bergevin and his wife, Ruth, reside in San Diego and have three children: two sons, Wes and Rhett, and a daughter, Elle.
