Coach Caron's Playing Statistics

-Entering 15th season in current post and with Devils’ organization; joined club August 9, 1993

-Works with all goalies in the organization, including NHL, AHL, ECHL and prospects

-Spent 12 years (1980-81–1991-92) serving Hartford Whalers organization in various capacities, including time spent as a member of their coaching staff at both the AHL and NHL levels

-Spent 1990-91 and 1991-92 seasons as Whalers’ NHL goaltending coach

-Began his post-playing career in 1977-78 with appointment as general manager of the AHL Binghamton Broomdusters; remained with Binghamton staff after sale of club to Hartford organization prior to 1980-81 season

-Professional playing career began in 1959-60 and spanned 18 years

-Played 72 regular-season NHL games in goal with Los Angeles, St. Louis and Vancouver between 1967-68 and 1973-74; compiled NHL career record of 24-29-11, with two shutouts and 3.29 goals-against average

-Posted his best NHL season with St. Louis in 1971-72 when he turned in a 2.52 GAA in 28 games played

-Outstanding AHL career was highlighted by seven-year stay with Springfield, 1961-62 to 1967-68

-Final season as an active player was spent with World Hockey Association’s Cincinnati Stingers in 1976-77

-Born April 21, 1939 in Noranda, Que…Jacques resides in Binghamton, NY.
