Michel Therrien
Head Coach

Montreal Canadiens general manager, Marc Bergevin, announced June 5, 2012 the appointment of Michel Therrien as the club’s new head coach. Therrien has coached an even 1,000 games in professional hockey (499 games in the NHL and 501 in the American Hockey League). In his six-year tenure with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, Michel Therrien started out as head coach of the clubs’ affiliate team in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from 2003 to 2005, before being promoted at the NHL level leading the Penguins to new heights from 2005 to 2009. ...more
  
Gerard Gallant
Assistant Coach

A native of Summerside, P.E.I, Gerard Gallant is an assistant coach on the Montreal Canadiens coaching staff after being hired on June 15, 2012. A 6th-round selection, 107th overall, by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, Gallant went on to play 11 seasons in the NHL, with Detroit and  Tampa Bay, from 1984 to 1995. Born on September 2, 1963, he played 615 NHL games, scoring 211 goals and 480 points, serving 1,674 penalty minutes. ...more

Assistant Coach

Clément Jodoin was named an Assistant Coach of the Montreal Canadiens on June 15, 2012. Jodoin completed in 2011-12 his first season as the Hamilton Bulldogs head coach. On July 22, 2011, he became the 10th head coach in Bulldogs history. Jodoin concluded his fourth season as head coach of the QMJHL’s Rimouski Oceanic in 2010-11 and his 10th season as a bench boss in the league.  ...more

Jean-Jacques Daigneault was hired as assistant coach of the Montreal Canadiens on June 29, 2012. "I am extremely happy to welcome Jean-Jacques Daigneault to our coaching staff. He brings a solid expertise, and his knowledge of the game will be an important asset to the development of our young players. Goaltending Coach

Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced July 4, 2013 the appointment of Stéphane Waite as goaltending coach for the organization. As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. "Stéphane Waite has over 30 years of experience as a goaltending coach, including the past 10 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks organization," indicated Bergevin. ...more
