Thrashers add four unrestricted free agents
The Atlanta Thrashers have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Joel Kwiatkowski, unrestricted free agent forward Jason Krog, and unrestricted free agent goaltenders Drew MacIntyre and Peter Mannino, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell.  Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Kwiatkowski, 32, has appeared in 282 career NHL games with Ottawa, Washington, Florida, Pittsburgh and Atlanta, recording 45 points (16 goals, 29 assists).  In 2007-08, he earned five assists in 18 games with the Thrashers.  He has also seen action in 356 career American Hockey League games with Cincinnati, Grand Rapids, Binghamton, San Antonio, St. John’s and Chicago, posting 183 points (65 goals, 118 assists) and won the 2008 Calder Cup with Chicago. 

The 6-0, 205-pound defenseman spent last season with the Cherepovets Severstal of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in Russia, recording 25 points (13 goals, 12 assists) in 52 games.  He ranked first among defenseman and fifth overall on the team in points, ranked second overall in goals and tied for third overall in assists. The Kindersley, Sask., native was originally selected by the Dallas Stars in the eighth round, 194th overall, of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.

Krog, 33, has appeared in 202 career NHL contests with Islanders, Ducks, Thrashers, Rangers and Canucks.  In 2002-03, he recorded four points (three goals, one assists) in 21 playoff games with Anaheim, helping them to the Stanley Cup Finals. He appeared in 14 games for the Thrashers during the 2006-07 season, recording three points (one goal, two assists). He has also recorded 448 points (157 goals, 291 assists) in 377 career AHL games with Lowell, Providence, Springfield, Bridgeport, Cincinnati, Chicago and Manitoba.
