NEW YORK -- New York Islanders forward Matt Martin has been suspended for one game, without pay, for kneeing Dallas Stars defenseman Trevor Daley during NHL Game No. 948 in Dallas on Tuesday, March 3, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 1:48 of the first period. Martin was assessed a major penalty for kneeing and a game misconduct.

New York Islanders forward Matt Martin will have a hearing Wednesday for kneeing Dallas Stars defenseman Trevor Daley during a game at American Airlines Center on Tuesday.

Daley was hit by Martin at 1:48 of the first period in Dallas' 3-2 overtime win. Martin received a five-minute major for kneeing and a game misconduct.

Daley sustained a lower-body injury on the play and did not return to the game.

NEW YORK -- Colorado Avalanche forwards Cody McLeod and Gabriel Landeskog each have been fined the maximum amounts allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement for their respective actions during the final seconds of NHL Game No. 930 in Denver on Saturday, February 28, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

McLeod has been fined $3,091.40 for entering the game on a legal line change for the purpose of starting an altercation with 8.1 seconds remaining in regulation. Directly off a face-off at center ice, McLeod launched into a bodycheck against Minnesota center Mikael Granlund and then engaged in a fight with Wild forward Charlie Coyle. McLeod was assessed a minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, a major penalty for fighting and a misconduct penalty.

Landeskog has been fined $5,000 for throwing a punch at Minnesota forward Mikko Koivu while both players were on their respective benches with 3.3 seconds remaining in regulation. Landeskog was assessed a misconduct penalty.

NEW YORK -- San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slew-footing Detroit Red Wings defenseman Brendan Smith during NHL Game No. 916 in San Jose on Thursday, February 26, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 16:03 of the third period. Couture was assessed a minor penalty for tripping and Smith was assessed a minor penalty for hooking on the play.

NEW YORK -- Ottawa Senators defenseman Jared Cowen has been suspended for three games, without pay, for interference against Florida Panthers forward Jussi Jokinen during NHL Game No. 877 in Ottawa on Saturday, February 21, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 4:38 of the second period. Cowen was assessed a minor penalty for interference.

Cowen is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, will forfeit $113,414.64. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Ottawa Senators defenseman Jared Cowen will have a hearing Monday for an illegal check to the head/interference on Florida Panthers forward Jussi Jokinen during a game at Canadian Tire Centre on Saturday.

Jokinen was hit by Cowen with 15:26 remaining in the second period of Ottawa's 4-1 win. Cowen was given an interference penalty on the play.

NEW YORK – Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov has been suspended for four games, without pay, for clipping Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin during NHL Game No. 820 in Dallas on Friday, Feb. 13, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 13:05 of the third period. Kulikov was assessed a major penalty for clipping and a game misconduct.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Kulikov will forfeit $93,189.96. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov has been offered an in-person hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety for a clipping incident with Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin during a game Friday at American Airlines Center.

Kulikov is suspended indefinitely pending the hearing.

Kulikov was given a major penalty and game misconduct for clipping Seguin at 13:05 of the third period. Seguin left the game and did not return. The Stars placed Seguin on injured reserve with a lower-body injury Saturday morning.

NEW YORK – Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel has been suspended for two games, without pay, for cross-checking Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid during NHL Game No. 797 in Boston on Tuesday, February 10, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 3:43 of the first period. Roussel was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for cross-checking.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and based on his average annual salary, Roussel will forfeit $21,505.38. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

NEW YORK – Philadelphia Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo has been suspended for eight games, without pay, for charging and boarding Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang during NHL Game No. 684 in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Jan. 20, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 15:36 of the first period. Rinaldo was assessed a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct.
