When the Philadelphia Flyers open their season Thursday against the Pittsburgh Penguins, it's seems more and more likely defenseman Chris Pronger will be on the ice with them.
According to multiple media reports from Philadelphia, Pronger has been practicing with the team for a few days, and while he wouldn't come out and say, "I'm in," he's been his usual comically abrasive self.
"It's progressing along and we'll see," was his stock answer to the question of whether he would play Thursday. He planned on testing the knee at practice Wednesday and then making a decision.
Coach Peter Laviolette said he would leave the ultimate decision to Pronger, who after more than 1,100 NHL games is the best person to know if he's ready to play or not.
