Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Sean O'Donnell will be among the guests Friday on NHL Live!, scheduled from noon-2 p.m. ET. Fans can catch NHL Live! on the NHL Network, NHL.com and XM Radio.

O'Donnell started his 16th season with a plus-1 rating in 16:09 of ice time in the Flyers' 3-2 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday.

Also joining hosts E.J. Hradek and Deb Placey will be NBC and Versus broadcaster Ed Olcyzk and Tampa Bay Lightning Dana Tyrell, who will realize his dream of playing his first NHL game Saturday.

Payne to appear on NHL Live!

St. Louis Blues coach Davis Payne will be among the guests on NHL Live! on Tuesday, scheduled from noon-2 p.m. on NHL Network and NHL.com and broadcast on XM Radio.

Payne is entering his first full season as coach after being hired on an interim basis by the Blues on Jan. 2. Over the final 42 games, Payne guided St. Louis to a record of 23-15-4.

NHL-Net U.S. announces 2010-11 game schedule

NEW YORK – NHL Network U.S. will televise 78 live games this season, all in HD, with live game action from every NHL Club spread over multiple days a week throughout the regular season.  Three "flex" games in addition to the 75 listed below will guarantee viewers get the key matchups with playoff implications.  Local blackouts will apply to all live games and game replays. 

NHL Network™ U.S. drops the puck on the live 2010-11 NHL® regular-season schedule Saturday, Oct. 9, with a double-header of live games.  First up is San Jose Sharks against the Columbus Blue Jackets in Stockholm, Sweden as part of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere.  That same night, captain Jonathan Toews and the Stanley Cup® Champion Chicago Blackhawks will raise a new banner to the United Center's rafters before their first home game for the season against the Detroit Red Wings.  Other highlights from the NHL Network U.S. broadcast schedule include the last meeting between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals before they go head-to-head in the 2011 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® on New Year's Day at Heinz Field.

NHL Network the place for 2010 NHL Face-Off

The NHL Network has your all-access pass to the season-opening extravaganza that celebrates the opening of the 2010-11 season, 2010 NHL Face-Off.

NHL Network will have three hours of live programming from the center of the party, Dundas Square in downtown Toronto. The broadcast will include live performances and exclusive interviews with three of Canada's top bands -- Hedley, Down With Webster and Hey Rosetta! -- while also keeping viewers updated on the action from the first game of the season, the 2010 NHL Compuware Premiere Helsinki game between the Minnesota Wild and Carolina Hurricanes.

NHL On The Fly host Brian Duff, panelist Mike Johnson and reporter Christine Simpson will guide fans through the day, including a hot stove session with Toronto Maple Leafs alums Darryl Sitler and Wendel Clark, as well as other special guests. Simpson also will visit the numerous hockey-themed interactive booths, and speak with parents and kids participating in on-ice skill clinics.

During the event, which runs from noon to 7 p.m., fans will have the unique opportunity to host a virtual On The Fly newscast, with help from On The Fly studio analysts Larry Murphy, Bill Berg and Craig Button.

McPhee, Rutherford on NHL Live!

A pair of NHL general managers, Washington's George McPhee and Carolina's Jim Rutherford, will be among the guests on NHL Live! on Wednesday, scheduled from noon-2 p.m. on NHL Network and NHL.com and broadcast on XM Radio.

McPhee has been the GM and vice president of the Capitals for the last 11 seasons, helping to build the franchise into one of the best in the NHL. Rutherford, a former goaltender who joined Carolina for the 1997-98 season, built the Hurricanes' only Stanley Cup championship team -- the 2005-06 squad that edged Edmonton in a seven-game Final.

Yzerman to appear on NHL Live! Tuesday

Tampa Bay Lightning GM Steve Yzerman will be among the guests on NHL Live! on Tuesday, scheduled from noon-2 p.m. on NHL Network and NHL.com and broadcast on XM Radio.

Yzerman is entering his first season as Lightning GM. After a Hall of Fame career that saw him tally 1,755 points in 1,514 NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings, Yzerman joined Detroit's front office, where he worked under GM Ken Holland for five seasons.

Also scheduled to appear to speak with co-hosts Don La Greca and E.J. Hradek are Kevin Allen of USA Today and Pierre McGuire of TSN and NBC.
