Bolts acquire Commodore for conditional pick

Monday, 02.27.2012 / 1:00 PM / 2008 Trade Deadline

The Detroit Red Wings have traded defenseman Mike Commodore to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.

The conditional pick requires that Commodore, who signed as a free agent with Detroit last July, must play 15 or more regular season games for the Lightning and the club must qualify for the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The 6-foot-4, 227-pound Commodore has played in only 17 games for the Red Wings this season, registering 2 assists.
Quote of the Day

It's an incredible feeling just to see it go in and see the Joe go pretty crazy.  Ever since the introduction there, I was kind of feeling the nerves, and to put that one home, I started to feel comfortable and I thought my play started to pick up.
