LOS ANGELES -- We did what we had to do last night. We got the win. And now we have to stick with the same mentality.

It's all cliché, I know, but our backs really are up against the wall and we really do have to take it one game at a time. We have to have the same mentality we had going into Game 4. We have to make sure we're focused, prepared and rested so we can make sure we keep our season going.

I don't think we played our best game of the series in Game 4. None of us do. But sometimes that's the way it works in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Hank [goaltender Henrik Lundqvist] stood on his head for us. He was great. Now we have to forget what happened and come with our best game tomorrow.

NEW YORK -- The last couple of days have been frustrating around here, as you could imagine. We had some down time and I've done a lot of thinking. Obviously no one is happy. The mood hasn't been very good.

When you're in the Stanley Cup Final and you're down 3-0 it's hard to turn your mind off from it. There are a lot of sleepless nights, tossing and turning.

It was real quiet around here yesterday. We had a team meeting and some things were said. Guys did a lot of thinking. I don't know if it was soul-searching, but searching for something. Today it seems like guys are energized and ready to bring our best game to try to get a win to stay alive.

And that's all we can do -- worry about one game. We can't look further. We have to put our best effort in front of us, win one game and go from there.

Dorsett: Rangers have to forget about Game 2 loss

LOS ANGELES -- Obviously we're very disappointed right now. We thought we had a good effort tonight, but we have to find a way to close out these games when we're up by two goals.

It's happened to us twice in two games that the Los Angeles Kings have come back on us and won. When we get a lead like that we should be able to play with it and close those games out.

Now we've got to dig deep and figure a way out.

LOS ANGELES -- The two days off between games gave us a chance to unwind yesterday away from the rink and everything.

Earlier this season we stayed down at a great little hotel in Santa Monica, and after the game the other night we went down there again. It's a beautiful hotel, right on the beach, on the water. There's a lot of stuff you can do during a day off. It was good for us.

I went for a bike ride, then I had lunch and went and chilled out in my hotel room to watch some shows.

It was relaxing. It's nice to soak in the sun and just disconnect from the game for a little while.
