TORONTO - Zach Sill and Jakub Vrana had two goals apiece as the Hershey Bears routed the Toronto Marlies 8-2 on Wednesday in Game 3 of the American Hockey League's Eastern Conference final.
Chris Bourque, Ryan Bourque and Christian Djoos also scored as Hershey reeled off seven unanswered goals to seal the victory and take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Dustin Gazley opened the scoring for the Bears in the first period and Justin Peters made 26 saves for the win.
Josh Leivo and Colin Smith replied for Toronto in the first period, giving the Marlies a short-lived 2-1 lead.
Antoine Bibeau started in net for Toronto, stopping 14-of-18 shots in 39:55 of work. He was replaced by Garret Sparks, who turned aside 7-of-11 shots.
Hershey scored on one of its three power plays and the Marlies didn't connect on their six man advantages.
Game 4 is in Toronto on Friday night.
