The Devils say Elias had surgery on his right knee on Wednesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Elias, a two-time Stanley Cup winner and the team's all-time leading scorer, missed most of last season with a knee injury. The 4-year-old will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
The Devils say Schneider had surgery for a core muscle injury on Tuesday at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia. His recovery time is expected to be about six weeks. Schneider was 27-25-6 last season with a 2.15 goals-against average.
