Morgan Ellis scores overtime winner as AHL IceCaps edge Comets 3-2

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Morgan Ellis scored 2:28 into overtime to lift the St. John's IceCaps to a 3-2 victory over the Utica Comets on Saturday in American Hockey League action.

Jacob de la Rose, on a power play, and Jeremy Gregoire scored in regulation for St. John's (30-32-11).

Taylor Fedun had a power-play goal for the Comets (36-24-12) while Wacey Hamilton scored shorthanded.

IceCaps goaltender Zachary Fucale made 47 saves in the victory. Utica's Joe Cannata turned aside 26 shots in the losing effort.

Both teams were 1 for 5 on the power play.
