Struggling Lightning recall forward Jonathan Drouin from AHL

TAMPA, Fla. - The struggling Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled forward Jonathan Drouin from the American Hockey League.

The Lightning have lost four of six games and lacked offence since losing captain Steven Stamkos (blood clot) and defenceman Anton Stralman (broken leg). Drouin has 11 goals and two assists for the AHL's Syracuse Crunch this season.

Drouin, the third pick in the 2013 draft and Tampa Bay's top prospect, was suspended in January for failing to report amid his camp's trade request. Since returning, he has nine goals and one assist in 10 games.

The 21-year-old has six goals and 34 assists in 89 NHL regular-season games.

The Lightning also recalled defenceman Matt Taormina and assigned defenceman Slater Koekkoek to the AHL.

Tampa Bay visits the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night.
