NHL suspends Canucks' Virtanen two games for interference against Sharks' Polak

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Vancouver Canucks forward Jake Virtanen has been suspended for two game for interference against San Jose Sharks defenceman Roman Polak.

The incident occurred at 2:01 of the second period of Vancouver's 4-1 home loss to the Sharks on Tuesday night. Virtanen delivered a blind-side hit to Polak and was assessed a major penalty for interference and a game misconduct.

Virtanen will forfeit US$9,614.70. He will be eligible to return when Vancouver hosts Los Angeles on Monday.
