EDMONTON - Colton Bobyk and Michael Spacek each had a goal and an assist and Trevor Martin made 30 saves as the Red Deer Rebels beat the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-1 in Western Hockey League action Thursday.
Adam Helewka and Braden Purtill, into an empty net, also scored for Red Deer (43-24-3). Luke Philp added two assists.
Davis Koch had the lone goal for Edmonton (29-34-7). Payton Lee made 21 saves.
Red Deer was 1-for-5 on the power play, while Edmonton was shut out on three opportunities with the man advantage.
Edmonton is holding on to the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, two points of idle Medicine Hat.
Red Deer is second in the Central Division and has already clinched a playoff spot.
